The Milton Erickson Institute of Houston
The Milton Erickson Institute of Houston is an educational and training institute promoting and advancing Ericksonian approaches to hypnosis and psychotherapy. The institute is dedicated to the belief that psychotherapy is most effective when it is tailored to the individuals and families treatment and is respectful of each person's uniqueness and individuality.

The faculty of the institute is multidisciplinary, with backgrounds in psychiatry, psychology, social work, nursing, and family therapy. The institute is affiliated with the Institutes of Texas in Houston and Austin and is licensed by the Milton H. Erickson Foundation and approved by ASCH to offer training.

Milton H. Erickson, M.D. (1901-1980)
Milton H. Erickson was the pioneer in the fields of clinical hypnosis and strategic psychotherapy. His innovative and unique style of therapy was dramatically effective and attracted the attention of such intellectuals as Gregory Bateson, Aldous Huxley, and Margret Mead. Erickson's approach was unconventional and pragmatic, and his influence is evident in such diverse treatment approaches as individual psychotherapy, marital therapy, sex therapy, and family therapy, as well as clinical hypnosis.
